Shadow of the Colossus Gallery

May 27, 2009

Shadow of the Colossus is one of my top 5 favorite PS2 games of all time.  It’s both breathtakingly beautiful and also a blast to play.  I happened across a link to a beautiful gallery of high res images of the game, good for desktop wallpapers.

Just thought I’d share.

Wii and EA Active

May 26, 2009

Generally, my gaming time is spent vegging out in front of the computer or sitting on my ass on the couch while I play some RPG or adventure game.  But now, we’ve bought a console with the full intent of losing weight and being healthy.
I’d read Pete at Dragonchasers and his adventures with the EA [...]

Second Life for Gamers

May 20, 2009

I haven’t logged into a traditional game (MMO or singleplayer) in weeks.  I’m feeling like a pretty sad excuse for a gamer, but I’ve been having a really good time in various virtual worlds as of late.

I finally *get* Second Life.  I understand why it’s addictive, and why people spend so much time there.  I [...]

May 11, 2009

In Second Life, there is a proposed voluntary gender verification service in their JIRA that will allow residents to optionally verify their real life gender.  Why? Because in the world, lesbians are considering it a form of “cyber-rape” that the woman they might be in a virtual relationship with might not actually be female in real life.
I [...]

Free Realms: The Constructive Criticism

May 8, 2009

Everyone knows I love Free Realms.  All the more, I want to see it flourish and succeed.  I think it’s a very good game, and by far the most polished game SOE has put out.  In the spirit of Cuppycake’s fair and unbiased blogging, I feel that I should point out the things that I [...]

Gender and Sexuality in Virtual Worlds

May 1, 2009

Alright, Tobold – you had to have known this post was baiting me.  I really, really, don’t like specifically calling out certain bloggers for what they say – but Tobold couldn’t have missed the mark any further in his blog post today – “Virtual Gender and Sexuality.”
His blog post is stating that virtual worlds and [...]
