Luke and I finally “got with the times” tonight and picked up a Blu-Ray player. No, we didn’t get a PS3. There aren’t actually any games we’d want to play on the PS3, and the Blu-Ray players are pretty cheap now.
My question is, what ‘essential’ movies should we get that look great on Blu-Ray? We picked up all 6 Harry Potter movies and Star Trek, and rented District 9 and G.I. Joe. Anything else we should make sure to buy or rent to take advantage of the HD glory?

When i got my blu-ray player i switch my Netflix subscription from DVD to Blu-Ray. It only cost a few more bucks a month so i felt it was worth it.
Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, The Matrix (the first one only, of course), and the BBC/Discovery Planet Earth series
Up
Personally I liked watching “Watchmen – Director’s Cut” and “Blood Diamonds” on BD
Definitely “Up”. But mostly any of the computer animated movies look great on Blu-Ray. Even the re-releases of older ones.
Two of my personal favorites are Casino Royale and 300
Another that I have not picked up yet but plan to is this 5 disc collection… it will be LAST version of Blade Runner I pick up, honest!
