Walking disaster.

by Cuppycake on July 31, 2007

So…along with spilling various beverages – I have another bad thing to add to the list =/  I have a corneal ulcer, which is a bad thing.  Here’s a pic of what I call “the cyborg eye.”  It’s extremely painful, watery, and sensitive to light =(

Of course this happens when I leave for Vegas in two days.  Ugh.  Antibiotics in my eye every hour, another appointment tomorrow.  Ugh, I really am a walking disaster!

Ouch!!! It’s okay Cuppy, I’m sure it’ll be just fine. Maybe if you drink enough, it’ll clear that up? I hear pouring everclear in the eyeball helps!

Hope the antibiotics do the trick: that wiki entry was not a pleasant read. Good luck, and hope it doesn’t ruin the weekend for you.

Ouch….

Reminds me of a day long ago in my distant past….(I still have nightmares about it)

The story goes….
I girl in my office had the same condition as you Cuppy.
It was also her birthday that day.
So in her card I wrote -

Happy Birthday
F*** you A**hole (Terminator 1 reference)
Hasta la vista, baby (Terminator 2)

Looking at this now I see I was very very misguided to think this was funny – but I was 17 or 18 at the time.

Anyway the girl who’s birthday it was didn’t watch the Terminator Movies and didn’t find it amusing at all.
She just looked at me and said rriiighht okay…thanks ??

Anyway have a nice trip – I hope you are felling better soon.

Wiki: “a common condition in humans particularly in the tropics”

So that’s what happens when someone moves from snow country to California, huh?

Get better. Just think of it as a chance to practice your “evil eye”.

Please cuppy take down that picture. I can’t visit your site because of it. :) Eye problems always make me squeamish.

I think this is the first stage of zombification if you ask me.

Tell me, do you hunger for brains?

Ouch! That looks a wee bit painful.

I get iris infection every now and then. Hurts like crap if I do not catch it and start taking cortisone before it hits in full effect.

Wear an eye-patch. Don’t drive and drink Malt Whiskey, preferably Talisker.

Hope you are getting better. Having your eyes be all messed up makes problems for gaming. And no one wants that.

Eye problems bug the hell outta me. I about dropped a load at my last physical when I realized I couldn’t read the damn eye test. I went from 20/20 vision to feeling like I was blind in a second.

My eye sight isn’t getting better, but I don’t need glasses yet.

Good luck to ya.

If it weren’t for the redness and the fact that the eye is obviously unhappy, it’s a very nice picture :) I really hope that you get this fixed quickly *hug* Good luck.

Whoa. If you are on any cortisone or penecillin for that…. Do NOT think you can stop. Alway finish the full prescription – and if there are an drops left and they’re not over their erm… ‘best before date’. An eye-doc told me that infections/viruses get killed at the rate of 25-50% per day. So after two-three days you fel well. But the virus is still active and if you stop it comes back – onlu a little stronger.

I’m not 100% sure thats really true – becouse I have never dared to stop after a few days.

Sorry for playing Mom here…. :-)

Oh I know I know! I’m on antibiotics – I will be finishing them. I’m just saying it looks good and doesn’t hurt now =)

Akely, it’s pretty true. Viruses aren’t quite as problematic in this as bacteria are, bacteria can do full DNA swaps if they want, so they can pick up uber-resistances in a single generation if they’re lucky. Viruses take longer, but it does still happen. You should always finish any prescription for antibiotics or anything else, unless specifically told by your GP.

Cuppy, I’m glad to hear that your eye is feeling and looking better *hug* Let us know how it goes, OK?
