Adventures in EQ2

by Cuppycake on March 6, 2007

There is something about playing Vanguard that reminds me what a great game EQ2 is. I decided to start playing EQ2 more than VG right now because I’m not a big fan of where VG is in its current state. I want to experience things like Unrest and Nektropos and all the neat nostalgia that EQ2 has to offer. In addition, I want to be able to experience the Kunark expansion since its zones in EQ were probably my favorites.

So…I’m back to EQ2 with two friends in tow. One of them is completely new to Everquest 2 (and the EQ world in general actually). My other friend is a longtime friend from EQLive who has tried the game several times and hopefully this time will be the charm. Never before have I appreciated the mentoring system quite like this. Truly, SOE got that aspect spot on in game. Its brilliant to be able to play with my lower level friends without needing to roll an alt. I can adventure with them and experience things with them and make the game truly more epic. I love that.

So, Mistwalkers is making a comeback. It was a guild started by a gentleman named Braen on the Fires of Heaven forums and it was made for new or returning players to EQ2. The guild is a ghost town right now – but since I’m a recruiter I plan to maybe help the guild out a bit. And in addition, I know that when Kunark comes out, people are going to want a home again to come try it out. If anyone is looking for an extremely laid back and casual guild come to Permafrost and do a /who all Mistwalkers. Everyone has invite privs so if you’re lucky enough to see someone online, send them a tell! More updates later!

Glad to see you giving EQ2 another shot, I’m doing the exact same thing. Tucking my Vanguard subscription aside due to well, I’m sure you’re well aware of all the bugs and issues with the game, and delving back into EQ2. Good luck with the guild, and your friends who are playing!
