After the fourth person IM’ed to call me a “casual blogger” or said “where are you!?” – I realized that maybe I should update my blog a little bit. I pretty much haven’t been posting too much because aside from my work on Metaplace – I haven’t done much in the gaming circles lately and don’t want to bore everyone with my RL drivel. So I’ve been a little busy lately and it’s been cutting into my “casual internet time.”
So what’s new?
- I’ve grown pretty entranced with a CCG called UFS (Universal Fighting System). It’s totally rad. I’ve always had a crush on CCGs and I’ve always wanted to play one, but never really had friends to play with. I went a little hogwild last year with the WoW TCG but didn’t know anyone who played so ended up abandoning it and leaving all my cards in Minnesota. UFS, on the other hand, seems like everyone I know is playing it and it has caught on. I am already addicted to buying a bunch of cards that I shouldn’t buy and I had a friend make me a deck with the Mai Shiranui character (from Fatal Fury/King of Fighters) and it’s really neat. We will probably be playing weekly at Game Empire and I’m excited to kick people’s ass with my awesome ninja fan chick and make lots of decks of all the other chicks in the game. My boyfriend made a good blog post about this game too.
- Lost Odyssey – I’m still only 17 hours in. I haven’t had a chance to play in over a week, but hopefully I’ll get the chance soon. I’ve cried my eyes out playing this game on 4 separate occasions now….they really pull at my heartstrings!
- Moving! My boyfriend, two of my friends and I are looking for a house to move into by the end of the month. This has been taking up quite a bit of my spare time and I anticipate things will be slow around this blog through the end of the month for sure.
- IMGDC. Last weekend of this month I’m traveling up to the blistering heat of Minnesota to attend this conference. I’m doing a panel with Scott Hartsman, Ron Meiners and Katie Postma called “Community Workshop – Questions & Answers.” It will be more of a Q&A session about building and maintaining communities for online games. Looking forward to hanging out with some old friends again!
- Metaplace! We’ve been ramping up slowly over the past few months, but lately we’ve been real busy preparing for things like stress tests and moving towards our planned spring launch. I’ve also been working on *my* personal creation with Metaplace…(which may or may not involve ponies)
So anyway, I hope to be back to regular blogging soon and hopefully I haven’t chased you all away by then!

My wife got into UFS at Gencon and bought tons of cards. That game confuses the heck out of me
So this Real Life game is keeping you busy I see! Good luck with the house hunting. Looking forward to your regular blogging schedule.
I miss my dose of regular quirkiness!
