I got the best Valentine’s/Birthday present ever from Luke, in a 3-day pass for the both of us to Coachella on April 25-27!
For those who don’t know about the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, it is a 3-day event in Indio, CA featuring tons and tons of bands of varying genres (alternative, rock, indie, hip/hop, electronica, experimental, etc.) and promises to be an amazing event. The only thing I worry about a little is the average daytime temperatures of 95 – 100 degrees F. That sounds wet and uncomfortable.
Anyway, the full lineup is on the Coachella website, but here’s the list of bands I’m absolutely STOKED about:
The National, Battles, Aesop Rock, Animal Collective, Vampire Weekend, Black Kids, Death Cab, M.I.A., Hot Chip, Holy Fuck, MGMT, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, Stars, Sons & Daughters, Annuals.
Here’s more of the bands I’m definitely excited for:
Serj Tankian, Les Savy Fav, Jens Lekman, Architecture in Helsinky, The Bees, Rilo Kiley, Kate Nash, Devotchka, Stephen Malkmus, Does it Offend You, Yeah?, Islands, Portishead, The Streets, Metric, Sia.
I’ve never been to Coachella but it’s always been that “awesome mystical festival on the West Coast that would be amazing to go to, but probably will never happen because I live in Minnesota.” Anyone else going this year?
