I have gotten more and more into TV the last couple of years. Right now I have quite a few shows on my DVR and quite a few that I want to catch up on and start watching but haven’t had the time. Here’s what I’m currently watching:
Dexter – Season 3 of Dexter is under way. I actually never watched Season 2 because I was moving around, but I read the synopsis and I’m mostly up to speed.
Heroes – Of course, who doesn’t watch Heroes? I never watched the second half of last season and I’m kind of lost right now. Hopefully I’ll start understanding what is going on.
True Blood – This show is horrible, but I can’t stop watching it. It’s about vampires living in the open and mingling with humans, and about some pathetic girl who is in love with one. Basically the R rated version of the Twilight series with a lot of boobs, sex, and masturbation.
Gossip Girl – Don’t make fun of me, I’m addicted.
America’s Next Top Model – I love this show!
Intervention – I’ve always been hooked on this show. Get it? I’m a comedian.
South Park – Second half of season 12 starts on Weds, so I’ll jump on that train too.
90210 – The new version. Yep, I’m hooked on this too.
Looking forward to:
Top Chef Season 5 – It’s in New York this year. Looking forward to this season.
The L Word – Final season. I think this doesn’t come out until January, but I’m excited for it.
Legend of the Seeker – Terry Goodkind series (Wizard’s First Rule) coming to TV.
Dollhouse – Coming January, who couldn’t love more Joss Whedon?
What else should I be watching?

True Blood, I have to agree, isn’t the best show on cable, but it’s pretty close to the Charlene Harris books, which I are very awesome. So, if you haven’t read the books, you’ll be lost, if you have, they did change a few things and the acting isn’t really there at times, but you’ll enjoy knowing what comes next before everyone else does.
Did that make sense at all?
Oof, yeah, True Blood. I haven’t read the novels so at least I’m not sitting around saying “but it was really like this!”…still…I think the biggest problem with it is that it doesn’t know what it is. Campy, serious…etc. And you can mix those things…only right now the storytelling is uneven, characters keep progressing then regressing, and I’m REALLY annoyed at the murder mystery plot because it’s doing that terrible thing where, due to conservation of characters, you should be getting a hint at who it is. A bad mystery is one that either A. you can tell who it is right away or B. can’t even guess because it’s someone they don’t hint at. That’s baaad storytelling. Me = story nerd.
But, shows I do like:
Mad Men – SO awesome. Not at all what you’d expect. Very critical look at the 60’s and deals with all kinds of gender/cultural/class issues.
Supernatural – This has turned into a really good show. 1st Season is uneven, but 2nd Season and after is really great. If you liked Buffy you’ll probably enjoy it.
The Office – I love this show something fierce. I heart Pam Beesley. And Jim.
House – Formulaic? Yes. But you get Hugh Laurie acting like a total ass. It’s great.
Reaper (when it’s back on), Lost (when it’s back on)
Have you checked out the new Smallville?
It’s my guilty pleasure
