Quick question that I figure I’ll pose here to the experts.
When you’re going around commenting on the blogs that other people write – how do you remember to go back and check to see if they’ve responded to you?
Whenever I post on other people’s blogs, I always forget to go back and see if anyone replied. Anyone have any good tips other than subscribing to all their comments?

I’m afraid I can’t think of any nifty tricks for remembering.
The built-in options where an email is sent when someone responds to your post is always helpful (I guess that’s the subscription option you mention).
I rarely remember what I had for breakfast by the time lunch rolls around. MMMMmmm. Lunch.
Cuppy,
When I make comments on places that allow for notify follow-up via email, i use my gmail account. This keeps all responses, when sent, organized in one conversation and easier to follow. Its usually organized by the title of the article which is nice.
- thats one way for ya.
It is rarely an issue as most of the time I start leaving a comment, it ends up expanding into a post for my own site. Otherwise, I tend to visit the same sites daily, so the few comments that remain just comments are easy to remember.
Yep. I go to the same sites every day so I know where I have left comments and yes I do check back to see what my friends have left in response. =)
If it’s something I’m really interested in seeing a response to, I make a mad search for the automated emailing option. If there isn’t one, I shoot myself an email with the link, so I’ll check it later. I mostly forget to check, though.
I just forget pretty often. ::blush::
I figure that I’ve made the point I want to make, and if someone really wants to argue with me they can hope along over to my blog and yell at me there. Or sometimes people will make a new post to respond to comments that people have made.
But really, I only make 3-4 comments a day, so it’s not that hard.
See, this is why we need a big central repository of everyone’s blog posts where updated posts or new posts jump to the top of the list, and maybe you could break it down by category and add a search function, or… wait…
I lol’ed Cam =P
Thanks for the suggestions all.
When ever i someone leave a comment on my blog i don’t comment back to them on my blog.
If there a bloger i go to there blog and post a my reply comment in there blog that way i know they’ll see it.
Think a worse ‘crime’ is to have people comment on a blog post entry & then the blogger never bothers to re-enter the conversation by adding a reply.
Thanks for the add in your blog roll btw!
