Goblins, heck yes!

by Cuppycake on August 10, 2009

In this possibly-rumored or maybe confirmed by perhaps trustworthy sources article at WoW.com the next playable races in the upcoming WoW expansion are Goblin (Horde) and Worgen (Alliance).   All I can say, is this is freaking awesome.  Goblins are the best!

I’ve been playing a little bit of WoW lately.  The new changes in Patch 3.2 lured me back to look at my new cat and bear forms – which made me miss my druid and want to play a bit.  I’m not really sure what to DO though.  My guild folded, so I’m flying solo.  I’m not wanting to raid.  I feel like I could level my tradeskills, bang out some achievements, do some Argent Tournament, try out the new battleground, and maybe get some pickup groups.  It all feels quite ‘tired’ though.  So who knows.

What are YOU doing in patch 3.2?

My boyfriend and I recently went back with this last patch. We left before for no real reason other than he wanted to give SWG a try, and we have limited time (and funds) to spend on gaming. So it’s usually Second Life and one or two other MMO’s that we play casually. I really missed WoW though, so I was happy when he wanted to go back. We’re flying solo as well, trying to get his hunter caught up to my priest so I can finally start levelling my main again (poor thing has been stuck at 73 since WOTLK came out.) We’re on Moon Guard, and have thought about taking advantage of the free character move to go to Norgannon and have a better chance at end-game content. I think the main thing we are missing is people to play with. WoW is a blast, but the social component is a big part of an MMORPG’s appeal for us, and we’re just not getting that in WoW. So who knows how long we will last?

I’m glad to see someone else championing the Steamwheedle Cartel! Well, I suppose a playable faction would be some other cartel somewhere, tied more directly to Undermine… but a goblin’s a goblin. Such a prospect tears my little Forsaken-loyal world asunder.

I’ve been playing fairly solidly as 3.2 came around, so the biggest change for me was being denied the chance to help build the Argent Crusade’s colliseum any more. Still, the instance there got me back into the saddle for mounted combat. It’s a shame that the tournament daily combat still hasn’t changed, though. Jousting solo is such an ache compared to a very manageable and even fun experience with others.

“Tired” would indeed be a good way to put it. It’s hard to know where one’s place is, going from expansion to expansion and witnessing all these changing priorities in the way Blizzard thinks we want to play.
