An Update on my Aion Experience

by Cuppycake on October 21, 2009

Awhile back I posted about how much I was enjoying Aion.  Well, it’s unfortunate but I haven’t logged in since I wrote that post.  I did the ascension questline and got my wings, and promptly stopped playing.

After hearing about how much of a grind it is at higher levels, I think I made the right decision for myself.  I have been doing a lot of freelance writing in my spare time trying to make some extra cash, and I don’t feel that sitting down and playing an MMO is a good use of my time right now.  Perhaps that will change..but for now, World of Warcraft is still my “go to” game for when I have some spare chunks of time to spend with an MMO.

Aion = Cancelled.

Yeah, I’m doing the same thing. The main reaso is not the grind, but the fact that you can do an entire PvE dungeon in Aion (around 2 hr long) and have the bosses drop nothing at all. As someone who primarily plays for small group PvE content like that, such a ‘mechanic’ takes out all the incentive for doing dungeons at all. I don’t mind the grinding/farming and the RvR, but without fun PvE there’s no real reason for me to keep playing. I’m kind of disappointed because Aion was touted as being a good mix of PvE and PvP — I think the PvP part is great but it’s PvE aspects are very lacking atm.
